Clay Wesley, Associate Director of Professional Development
Who is Clay?
Clay Wesley joined the College of Business at Tennessee Tech in November 2018 and oversees the Student to Career Center, concentrating on developing career-ready leaders. He helps S2C provide a wide array of events, programs, and services, and has found great success with a “low cost, high impact” approach to resource utilization, one that emphasizes individual experiences over curb appeal. In addition to his administrative role at TN Tech, Clay has also served as an adjunct faculty member for the College of Professional and Continuing Studies at the University of Oklahoma since 2012. He teaches and develops courses focused on goal setting, leadership, and customer service, as well as facilitating training programs on effective communication.
Clay began his career in higher education in 2007 as an admission officer and new student orientation coordinator at the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith. In October 2008, he started a 10-year tenure at the University of Oklahoma, administering the graduate enrollment management project and developing the Graduate Student Life Center.
A native of Oklahoma, Clay attended Seminole State College and received an Associates of Science before receiving a B.S. in Mass Communication and a M.Ed. in Sport Administration from East Central University in Ada, OK. Clay and his wife, Vanessa, have three amazing kids (Ava, Lane, and Zoey).
